FLOW OF FLUIDS – THROUGH VALVE, FITTINGS AND PIPE

The most commonly employed method of transporting fluid from one point to another is to forcé the fluid to flow through a piping system. Pipe of circular section is most frequently used because that shape offers not only greater structural strngth, but also greater cross sectional area per unit of wall surface tan any other shape. Unless otherwise stated, the Word “pipe” in this book will always refer to a closed conduit of circular section and constant internal diameter.
